NORTH STRADBROKE ISLAND - A NEAR PERFECT CLIMATE Summer Weather (December, January, February)Air temperature ranges from a nightly minimum of around 22 degrees Celsius to a maximum near 30 during the day. Warm northerly winds and fragrant smells give a tropical feel to the island. The water temperature is around 26/27 degrees Celsius and is an absolute treat. During hot, humid summer days, the aim is to spend a good part of your day in the water.
Autumn Weather (March, April, May)A beautiful time of year, with milder air temperatures, cooler nights and water temperatures still in the mid-twenties.
Winter Weather (June, July, August)This is the favourite time of year for many Islanders, with typical winter weather providing cloudless days and crystal clear, sparkling nights. Winter is the dry season, with most winters experiencing only a handful of rainy days. Air temperatures range from around 10 degrees Celsius at night to 22 degrees during the day, and westerly winds make for fantastic camping along the ocean beach. Water temperatures are 19/20 degrees, and still great for swimming and snorkeling. These clear conditions are also perfect for whale watching (May - November.
Spring Weather (September, October, November)Spring sees the return of warm northerly winds and rising temperatures. These months are the most reliable for the winds and small swell required for snorkeling around Point Lookout's dramatic headlands.
